StoneLux® Miniature Stone Coating has many different applications, e.g. exterior walls of buildings, roofs, architectural mouldings, and gardens features, interior floors, fireplaces, & craft projects, etc.
              1. Prepare the surface, making sure it is clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or grease.
              2. Apply the matching base coat primer to flaky or porous surfaces.
              3. Using a brush apply at least 2 thin coats of Miniature Stone Coating, ensuring the previous coat is thoroughly dry

Rough Stone/Pebbledash

Scoring out your brick and stonework gives an authentic exterior, but make sure you practice before using this method on your miniatures.
              1. Follow ‘Basic Application’ instructions.
              2. Stipple the drying surface with a small sponge wrapped in cling film, a stencil brush or fine toothbrush.

Fine Dressed Stone

For a more of a dressed stone appearance follow the instructions below:
                1. Follow the ‘Basic Application’ instructions.
                2. Wipe the surface of the final coat with a small dry sponge while still wet or lightly abrade after drying to remove some of the stone particles.

Scoring Out Brick/Stone Work

Scoring out your brick and stonework gives an authentic exterior, but make sure you practice before using this method on your miniatures.
              1. Apply Miniature Stone Coating Primer Base Coat in a mortar colour.
              2. Ensuring the primer has thoroughly dried, apply a slightly thicker than normal coat.
              3. While the coat is still wet, score away the Miniature Stone Coating using a sharp pointed tool and a ruler to create the size of bricks or stonework you require.

Card/Brick Cladding

This method is perfect for brick and stone cladding, which helps to successfully provide many different authentic period exteriors. It is also a good way reach those hard to paint infills.
              1. Paint a sheet of non-corrugated card with at least two thin coats of Miniature Stone Coating.
              2. Once dry cut out the bricks with a craft knife and rule, or scissors.
              3. Paint the area to be covered with Miniature Stone Coating primer, in either ‘grey slate’ or ‘grey lime’, this will provide a suitable mortar colour.
              4. Glue the slips into place with PVA or craft glue.
